Temporary number

A temporary number assigned to uncatalogued material.

Some material now in the archive table was previously audited and assigned a temporary number in the artworks table. A decision was made to try to keep archive and visual material data separate in respect of the Archive and Museum Accreditation Standards. Data has been moved out of the artworks table and into the archive table where possible, so this field exists to acknowledge former numbers or current temporary numbers that have not as yet been recorded in CALM.

N.B. Please note that if a record given a temporary number has been deleted from the artworks table after being added to the archives table, it will not be searchable in the temp number search on the artworks landing page. We may be able to link the artworks/archive table to do this, but for now you will have to search both tables separately.

i.e. INV.2022/3542 exists in the archive table but not the artworks table.
