QB artworks table

Each sub-page relates to a metadata heading in the artworks table in QB, alongside guidance on how to use/standardise data within the relevant fields during inventory.

Quickbase is the database we are utilising to manage Wellcome's visual and material culture inventory and audit. Select metadata for catalogued items in QB have been exported out of the Library Management system Sierra. (March 2019)

The fields taken from the Bibliographic and item level records from Sierra include:

· Current location (from the item record formerly labelled 'barcode')

· Iconographic number (from the Bibliographic record - 001)

· Sierra system number

· Sierra item record number

· Accession number (if populated on the item record)

· Physical description (from the Bibliographic record - 300)

· Sierra volume field (from the item record)

· Creators (from the Bibliographic record - 100 and 700)

· Title/Brief description (from the Bibliographic record - 245 and 246)
