👋Introduction

The Collections Information team is made up of archivists, librarians, museum professionals, and paraprofessionals.

What we do

The Collections Information (CI) team surfaces connections between our collections, people and perspectives on health. We ensure our collections are accessible – legally, ethically and inclusively – and can be made available to as many people as possible. We are pathfinders, guiding colleagues and audiences to find and tell stories using our collections, catalyzing conversations and developing deep collections knowledge to help build a more equitable future.

What is Collections Information?

Good quality collections information lets people know what we have and how it can be accessed: it can range from a minimal inventory record through to detailed descriptive catalogue, bibliographic and collections management metadata. It encompasses information about content and context, such as provenance; information about format and physical condition; information about ownership, rights and access conditions; and information associated with our management of the item.
