Other number

Like in the artworks table this field exists for us to capture ‘other numbers’ that might be noted on artworks/housing/accompanying literature. These may be unique identifiers that aid reconciliation or support future research/provenance.

If an item has an archive extraction number, you can record this here. It will comprise the collection reference, the accession number and a running number – typically given by conservation.

For example: 2218_OS_001 [2218 is the accession number, OS refers to 'outsize' and 001 is the running number. It has been given an extraction number as the item as yet has not been catalogued.
