Potential material to extract? (AV, BD, fragile)
Rules for completing column L of the scoping spreadsheet
We now aim to extract all audio-visual and born-digital material from new accessions before they go to Deepstore. However, items within files often slip through the net and historic accessions weren’t checked.
There might also be some clearly fragile material or objects not suitable for Deepstore storage that we will want to recall and extract.
In this scoping, we’re checking keywords to try and find as many as we can which is easier in some formats (Word and Excel have a find function) than others.
Select 'AV' if:
there's any audio-visual material in the box list
Select 'BD' if:
there’s any born-digital material in the box list (all unidentified CDs and DVDs are considered born-digital)
Select 'AV and BD' if:
there’s both audio-visual and born-digital material in the box list
Select 'Cons' if:
there are any objects or fragile material like glass or oversize material in the box list
See the Notes column for further guidance on what to record for specific formats.
