Rules
If an item is part of an actual series, like BBC Horizon, then add a series statement. Where episodes have their own individual titles, these may be used as preferred titles for the individual works, but the series title should also be indicated.
If it is part of a local series, such as a series of conference session recordings in an archive, then create individual item records within a series in CALM and record the series information in the parent level record.
For a series of items that make up a single intellectual work (such as a single oral history interview that extends over multiple tapes), consider cataloguing as a single item in CALM.
Use cataloguer's judgement when grouping items, e.g. for a recording of a conference over several days, consider grouping the items together by day, considering how best to reflect the original order and how easy the items will be to retrieve.
