Metadata Elements

These are divided between:

• mandatory elements to create a minimum viable catalogue record (MVR)

• additional optional elements for a fuller, more detailed catalogue record

The metadata framework is based on the data elements required rather than being a list of system specific fields. There is a separate metadata crosswalk as a reference tool to demonstrate how these data elements map to the current cataloguing systems in use by Wellcome Collection.
