Title
Definition
Title, identifying phrase, or name for the moving image Work or Variant (FIAF 1.3.2)
Where will you find the title?
Firstly check the physical case or item for any labels

Check any box lists or collection file - the item might be part of a group with only one of the items having a label
Digital files may have additional metadata that includes a title
If there no labels on the item, watch/listen to the start for any clues

Rules
For published film or video works, according to RDA, the preferred title source is:
Title in the title frames (at start of the film or video)
Title on a label
Title on the container itself
Titles(s) as listed on a disc menu or other
Any other titles (if different) should be recorded as alternatives with a source.
For audio works, use the title as announced during the recording or programme, if any.
For archive or unpublished material, follow the guidelines on assigning titles under ISAD(G) 3.1.2, as set out in the archives cataloguing manual.
Where no original title exists, provide a descriptive title that specifies the type of content e.g. 'New Orleans Conference, 1998' 'Oral history of Jane Doe' 'Recording of committee meeting Jan 2003'
Keep this succinct; more detailed description will go into the description field.
See system guidelines for how to record title devised by a cataloguer
For clarity, be explicit about where the title is from; whether it appears on screen, in the recording or on the item or packaging. State if the title doesn't appear on the item but has been assigned by the cataloguer.
For born-digital material, where possible, the title should be based on the original file/folder name or text written on original media. However, if the original title does not reflect the material, devise a succinct meaningful title and record the original title in the most appropriate place for the system used.
When a creator assigns Untitled as the title of an object, this should be used as the preferred title in the record. (Untitled should not be used as a title when an object has no given title).
