EPB Supplementary
Supplementary (A/B/C/D)
Items located in the supplementary collections were merged into the larger EPB locations. This was done for a couple of reasons. First, the supplementary locations were the remnant of a now obsolete storage/shelving system. For example, Supplementary A sat sequentially between parts of EPB A. EPB A shelfmarks went from EPB/A/4 to EPB/A/63448, with EPB/A supp numbered 57000 to 61979, and EPB/A starting again at 65000. Secondly, merging the EPB sections is part of a wider effort to streamline location codes and shelfmarks making the items less complicated to locate and retrieve. The Supplementary locations were recorded as former locations in relevant records to retain historical context. The physical location and sequential numbering of the supplementary items remained the same.
