EPB Pamphlets
Variations in standard procedure when working with EPB/P and EPB/P o/s.
Inventory of the pamphlets collections follows standard procedure with only a couple of variations.
Adding a new label
The pamphlets are stored in individual folders within boxes. Each box has the previous number printed on a sticker on the outside. Rather than crossing out the old number, place a sticker over the top and write the updated object number.

You will also need to update the box with the range of items inside.

'Empty' folders

During inventory you may come across folders which have a label saying 'empty'. This appears to be from a rehousing project where the member of staff was creating folders based on an export from Sierra rather than from the items on the shelf. During inventory of other collections, the team have discovered records located incorrectly as EPB P but were actually items within EPB A or B. While the records will have been updated, so there is no longer a record corresponding with that EPB/P number, the team may not have removed the 'empty' folder in EPB Pamphlets.
If you come across an 'empty' folder, check if there is an item with that number on the system in another collection e.g. if you find an 'empty' folder for 1234/P, check if there is an EPB/A/1234 or EPB/B/1234 recorded. If there is nothing on Sierra, it may also be worth checking the uncatalogued spreadsheet. If the folder does not relate to a physical item, remove it.
If you cannot find a physical item, follow the standard missing items procedure.
