Access appeals process

These procedures are intended for use in instances where changes to the access statuses of records are requested. For instance, requests to access closed records and requests for open records to be restricted or closed.

If a change in access status is incontrovertible (e.g. if highly sensitive medical data is found in an open file) the Collections Information team should process the request immediately. Taking the request to an Access Advisory Panel is not required.
