The MARC guidelines for cataloging Visual & Cultural objects are included in the Wellcome . These accommodate the requirements of the Visual Cataloguing Framework.
Catalogue records for Visual material need to meet for Museum Accreditation. Spectrum requires a 'basic' record is created for each part of the collection. The ideal basic record should contain the following core fields and data:
The Bibliographic record contains the descriptive information about an object, and includes all the metadata elements covered in the Wellcome Visual Metadata Framework, except location. Information relating to condition and provenance may be found in both the Bibliographic and Item records due to legacy data.
