Changes in procedure when working outwith the main sequences [EPB/A to F]

When inventory began in 2019, there were multiple pockets of material and additional small collections in the basement stores. To better manage the collections, the team reduced the number of smaller collections, subsuming them into the main sequences.

Many of the small collections had historic reasons for existing but no longer had a specific function. Any items moved had their former collections/locations added so that the history of these collections would be preserved.

Over the decades, different collections had been catalogued in different ways. Understanding and tackling legacy data was one of the biggest challenges during inventory. Where possible, the team followed a set workflow, but this section outlines how, when and where changes had to be made to procedures.
