Ephemera

Allocating unique ID numbers for cataloguing

The Ephemera collection uses the numbering format EPH[Box number]/running number

e.g. EPH752/21

• the box number is allocated to the box the items are housed in, take new box numbers from this spreadsheet

• a running number is allocated for each item catalogued (for each new Bibliographic record).

For printed or paper based 2D material there is likely to already be an existing box to which it can be added, check with the Inventory team.

Cataloguing

Bibliographic Record

• Mat Type = I Ephemera

• Location = STAX

• Marc Leader Rec type = a Language material or r 3D artifact

• 001 the Ephemera ref goes here

• Delete the 506 & 590 Uncatalogued notes

Item record

• Use the ephitem template for the Item record
