Check that a specific field does not already exist before using this field.

If the note is a quote from the item or another source, use speech marks and state the source. Use exact format/punctuation, i.e. *"Note."--From source.*

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Books" %}
**Note on source of title**\
Note where the title has been sourced from if not from the title page (usually the cover).

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="background-color:blue;">**500**</mark>  Title from cover.
{% endhint %}

**Index note**\
Note if there is an index but no bibliography (if there is a bibliography, this information will go in a [**504**](#id-504-bibliography-etc.-note-r)).

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="background-color:blue;">**500**</mark>  Includes index.
{% endhint %}

**Exhibition catalogue note**\

If the zine is a 6-page booklet (or smash book), check if there is a poster on the overleaf and if so, include this in the note. You don't need to do this is there is no poster, assume it's standard-binding/volume.

Local Wellcome procedures are in the [Sensitivity & Access Guidelines](https://docs.wellcomecollection.org/library-cataloguing/9yMHsFGBXS9DDRGtdmSE/bibliographic-record/broken-reference).&#x20;

For uncatalogued material that has a [**590**](#id-590-local-note-to-recorded-uncatalogued-status) field, make sure this is included in the record (in already in acquisition record templates)

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="background-color:blue;">**506**</mark> This is currently uncatalogued and cannot be ordered online. Requests to view uncatalogued material are considered on a case by case basis. Please contact <collections@wellcomecollection.org> for more details.
